1. Overview

Calm Reminders is designed to support personal calm, journaling, and reflection. Much of the information you create and use in the App is stored and processed locally on your device. Some features may also involve limited sharing with platform providers or service providers, as described below.

2. Information Stored and Processed in the App

Depending on how you use the App, the App may store and process the following information on your device:

• journal entries
• tags, categories, and favorites
• custom prompts
• Journal Insights content generated from your recent entries
• app preferences and settings
• reminder and notification schedule settings
• app lock settings and related preferences
• widget-related content shown through your device's widget system

This information is primarily stored and used locally on your device to provide the App's features.

3. Information Related to Purchases and Subscriptions

If you make a purchase or subscribe to a paid feature, billing and transaction processing are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play.

We may receive limited purchase-related information, such as entitlement status, subscription status, product identifiers, and transaction confirmations, through the applicable app marketplace and our purchase management service providers. We do not receive or store your payment card information.

4. Information Related to Advertising

If you use the free version of the App, the App may display advertisements through third-party advertising partners. Those partners may process device-related information, identifiers, or similar data in accordance with their own privacy policies and platform rules.

5. On-Device AI Features

The App includes AI-powered features such as Journal Insights, Keep Exploring follow-up questions, tag suggestions, and related writing tools. These features operate on-device, and journal content is not sent to external AI providers for processing.

6. Optional Anonymous Analytics

The App may collect anonymous usage analytics to help us understand how features are used and improve the App experience. Analytics collection is disabled by default and requires your explicit consent. You can enable or disable analytics at any time in Settings > Support & About.

If you consent, the App may collect anonymous data such as which features you use, how you interact with app screens, and general usage patterns. Analytics data does not include the content of your journal entries, tag names, prompt text, or any other personally identifiable information.

7. Optional Cloud and Account-Based Features

If you choose to use optional cloud-based or account-based features, including features such as cloud sync or account-linked functionality, certain information may be transmitted to and stored by our service providers as necessary to provide those features.

8. Notifications, Widgets, and App Lock

If you enable reminders or notifications, the App stores and uses your scheduling preferences in order to deliver notifications on your device.

If you use widgets, limited app content may be displayed through your device's widget system.

If you enable app lock, the App may use device biometrics, PIN credentials, secure local storage, and related settings to protect access to your content.

If you choose to provide recovery or backup information for app access features, that information may be stored and used only for the purpose of helping you recover access.

9. How We Use Information

We use information processed by the App to:

• provide journaling, calm, prompt, reminder, widget, streak, and reflection features
• unlock and restore paid purchases and subscriptions
• provide AI-powered features within the App
• support optional cloud-based functionality if enabled
• display ads in the free tier
• maintain app security and app lock features
• comply with legal obligations and platform requirements
• improve app reliability and feature performance
• understand feature usage and improve the App (only if you opt in to analytics)

10. How Information May Be Shared

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share limited information only as necessary to operate the App and provide requested features, including with:

• Apple App Store and Google Play for purchases, subscriptions, billing, and related platform functions
• service providers that help us manage purchases and entitlements
• advertising providers for ad-supported functionality
• cloud or infrastructure providers for optional account or sync features
• service providers that help support security, communications, or account recovery features
• Firebase Analytics (Google) for anonymous usage analytics, only if you have opted in
• legal authorities or regulators when required by law

11. Refund Requests and Consumption Data

Consent to Share Consumption Data with Apple:

By using our app and making in-app purchases, you consent to our sharing of data regarding your usage and consumption of purchased content with Apple, as part of our efforts to resolve refund requests. This information may include details about how you have accessed and interacted with the purchased content. The purpose of sharing this data is to help Apple make an informed decision regarding refund requests. We ensure that such data sharing is done in compliance with Apple's policies and only as necessary to process your requests.

12. Data Retention

Information stored locally on your device remains there unless you delete it, remove the App, clear app data, or overwrite it through normal use of the App.

User Content stored in the cloud (Pro Users only) will be deleted six (6) months after a subscription is cancelled or expires.

Information associated with purchases, subscriptions, support requests, optional cloud features, or recovery-related features may be retained as reasonably necessary to provide those services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud or abuse.

13. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us.

14. Your Choices

Depending on how you use the App, you may be able to:

• choose whether to create and store journal content in the App
• choose whether to enable reminders, widgets, or app lock
• choose whether to purchase subscriptions or one-time purchases
• choose whether to use optional cloud-based features
• enable or disable anonymous analytics in Settings > Support & About
• manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple App Store or Google Play
• limit ad tracking through your device or platform settings where available
• delete app data by removing the App or clearing data on your device

15. Third-Party Policies

Some app features rely on third-party platforms or service providers. Your use of purchases, subscriptions, ads, or platform-provided functionality may also be subject to the privacy policies and terms of those third parties.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Your continued use of the App after the updated Privacy Policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
